How Much Meat Does My Family Need?
In 2021 the average amount of beef eaten by a single person was 58 lbs per year. Some people eat more. Some people eat less. With 58 lbs per year being the average, that would mean about 1 lb per week would get you to the average. Going off that should help you decide how much you think you need.
Family of Two
Would eat aproximately
116 lbs of beef, or 1/4 cow,
in a year
Family of Four
Would eat aproximately
232 lbs of beef, or 1/2 a cow, in a year
Family of Six
Would eat aproximately
348 lbs of beef in a year. We are a family of 6 ourselves and can say that whole cow was gone a year later.
